What a stinking load of beaver crap! I drank this in a taverna in the darkest regions of Manila. I had to blend 6 oz of coca fucking cola and hold my nose to force this concotion of pure evil down my throat. Don't waste your money! I can recommend Golden Leaf instead. Now that will put lead in your pencil Just don't get carried away and mutilate some gook prozzies while you're enjoying the peaty rush!

My first Islay

Today I picked up two bottles of scotch from Islay. I find this one to be very straightforward in its flavor, smokey peat.
Its still a bit rough around the edges, but that might be because of its young age.
I'll know more after I crack the second bottle.

I find this to be a safe bet for most occasions and cigars. The flavor is not overpowering, and just gentle enough that you can still taste it with whatever your eating or smoking.

I purchased this bottle as a gift; however I wanted to ensure I had a well-aged scotch (at least 25 years). Unfortunately Macallan does not provide such information and this is more of a marketing ploy than a well-aged scotch. But luck was on my side and the very responsive folks at Lovescotch.com helped me change my order to meet my needs. Bottomline: buyer beware.

I started drinking Scotch in my early 20's, being that young, money was in short supply. I first tried the lesser malts & cheaper brands of scotch wiskies, only to find, that you get what you pay for. Upgrading my taste some, I started drinking Chivas Regal. The taste is very good, a nice smokey malt taste that goes down very well, it may be pricer than most major brand mixed blends, but it is well worth it. For those 1st timers to the finer drink of scotch, I highly recommend Chivas Regal 12yr old scotch.
